Instead, speaking
the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him, who is the
Head, that is Christ.

"For I was
hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you
gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I
was naked and you clothed me,
I
was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."
Mt 25:35
As Christians who breath in the
love and mercy of God, we also exhale His compassion upon others. Christ
Lutheran is active in ministering to those in prison, in the hospital or a
nursing home. We are a congregation which seeks to be active in our community to
bring the love of Christ to those who may not be able to attend worship.
Some opportunities we have available to serve those in need include:
-
Provide care to residents of the
Summerhill nursing home in
Perry. Pastor
Schave and Deaconess Kim offer Wednesday morning devotions to the residents.
Our members bring the love of Christ to residents on Thursday afternoons by
visiting with them, sharing scripture with them, and praying with them.
We also donate our Sunday morning altar flowers to residents each week.
-
Assist the Perry Volunteer Outreach
with special projects.
We have fed prison
inmates working on the Grace Village women's shelter project and also
provided funding for the building of this shelter. Picture below is
from the PVO Heartbeat newsletter.

-
We will be partnering with the Georgia Department of Human
Resources by
serving as a satellite site where TANF (food stamps) participants can apply
for assistance.
